| Does it matter which country I'm in?
| No, we can take your emails from anywhere in the world. Whether you're in Tokyo or Timbuktu is irrelevant: once we hand-over to you at the end of our assignment, you have full control of your book wherever you are.
|   |
| Do you only publish books written in the English language?
| We do some foreign language publishing but the great majority of our work is in the English language.
|   |
| Who owns the copyright to my book?
| You do, a writer would be foolish to transfer the copyright on their writings to anyone and we have no interest in owning copyright.
|   |
| Who sells my book?
| As the author, you can order as many copies of your book as you wish using your web storefront at cost price and sell them for a price which you set yourself. With your ISBN, your book will also be sold through online and high street booksellers: through this sales channel the difference between the selling price and cost price must be shared between the author (as royalties), the Print On Demand (POD) service and the bookseller.
|   |
| Is the ISBN optional?
| Yes, but remember this costs an extra £50.00 giving a total print package price of £290.00. Without an ISBN you would be unable to have your book listed with online booksellers such as amazon. We take care of all the processes including registering the ISBN and printing it in barcode form on the back cover of your book and in numeric form on the back cover and an inside page of your book.
|   |
| Is the eBook optional?
| Yes, but remember the 50% discount price of £75.00 is only available if you also buy our printed book services. This is because a lot of the formatting work on a printed book can be carried-over to an eBook format.
|   |
| Can I just have an eBook without having a printed book?
| Yes, that's not a problem. Note that there is a single payment of £150.00 for our eBooks service on its own.
|   |
| What can I expect to pay for the various publishing services?
| If you go for the full package of ISBN, eBook and Print services (including cover, book interior and storefront) the total cost would be £365.00. For just the Print services with ISBN, the total charge is £290.00. For the Print services without ISBN the total charge is £240.00. Lastly, for an eBook service alone, the charge is £150.00.
|   |
| What do you offer that I can't get from other online publishers?
| As an independent book publishing company we have the time to treat our authors as someone special. We will go that extra mile to make sure you're provided with friendly advice at all stages of the publishing process.
|   |
| How do I send the money to you?
| You can use PayPal (worldwide) from the payments link on our website or send us a Cheque or Postal Order (U.K. only).
|   |
| How much do I pay you for the book publishing option?
| £120.00 to start things off (or other amount as agreed), then the balance of £120.00 later on when the book is ready for sale.
|   |
| How do I start the ball rolling?
| Don't send a payment just yet - send us your details and any other questions you might have via our website - click on the email link on the left hand side of our web pages.
|   |
| In a nutshell, what will you do for my money?
| Professional editing, publishing & designing. We design your book & your book cover. We design your eBook & your eBook marketing image. Take your advice and suggestions. Arrange for your book design to be printed. Send you a copy. Give your book an ISBN. Provide authors with a POD service from your own FREE web storefront: you can order single copies or as many as you wish.
|   |
| Can I order additional printed books at any time?
| Yes, once you've made your final payment you can make requests for books at any time you want using your web storefront, all it will cost you is the price per copy plus the post and packaging charge.
|   |
| What's the minimum number of printed books I can order?
| One.
|   |
| What's the maximum number of printed books I can order?
| That's up to you.
|   |
| Is there any P & P for eBooks?
| No - eBooks are always downloaded by your customers at no charge. Note also that your eBooks will always be sold from your storefront. There is no concept of getting an eBook at a reduced price as the author since there is nothing physical for you to get.
|   |
| What happens if my book is hand-written only?
| Send us the details (number of handwritten pages, samples of your pages etc) and we'll quote you for typing the words into a word processor.
|   |
| What happens if there are lots of mistakes in my book so that it needs careful proof-reading and correction?
| We charge £1.50 per thousand words for a proof reading service.
|   |
| What happens if I want to make changes to my book after it is published?
| There is a charge of £35.00 to bring out an updated version of your book.
|   |
| Do you give feedback to authors on the quality of their work? In other words, do you provide an evaluation or literary review?
| We have established authors who will carry out this service for a fee. Let us know if you want this service.
|   |
| How do I set the price for my book to sell from my web storefront or online booksellers or in bookshops?
| Obviously, you don't want to sell your book for less than it costs to produce ie the cost of printing. The printing cost depends on the number of pages, how many copies you wish to order and whether the words or any graphics in the book are black-on-white or use full colour. Hardback books are also more expensive than paperbacks. You also need to add on your royalty so that the final price of your book to a buyer can be set. We'll advise you nearer the time on a suitable price.
|   |
| How do royalties get calculated?
| Let's say that it costs £3.00 to print your book (the cost price) and you want to sell it for £8.00. In that case, if you physically sell the books yourself by ordering them from your storefront at cost price and then selling them at book price your royalty would be £5.00 per book ie 100% - but remember you would have to take into account P & P. If you sell the book from your web storefront, the customer pays for the P & P and your royalty would be approximately 80% of the £5.00 with the other 20% going to the website which is hosting your web storefront. Selling through online webstores such as amazon means that you would have to negotiate the money left to you (ie your royalty) after the web bookseller has taken its cut - which can be quite large.
