"Our doubts are traitors, and make us lose the good
We oft might win by fearing the attempt."

Without authors and creative writers

...there would be no publishing so writing your novel, memoirs, guide book, poetry book or manual is the vital first step. A word processor allows you to make an electronic copy of your book. If necessary, use a scanner to add photographs, drawings or other illustrations to the text. When you're ready, email your documents to Rossendale Books.

Rossendale Books

...receives your documents by email along with any instructions. Before the book is actually printed there are other pieces of information which you will need to provide including a book title, a photograph of the author if required, a short 'blurb' to describe your book and 'bio' - a brief description of yourself to include on the cover of the book. We can help you with all these things.

Once we receive

...the book documents by email, the design process can begin. This includes choosing a suitable page size for your book, giving some thought to the page layout so that it looks good to the eye, choosing left and right margins, spaces at the top and bottom of the page, page numbering and the use of a suitable typeface or font. A separate task involves designing your book cover - always in full colour and sent for approval to the author.

When you're happy

...with the book design (the main text & the cover) it is sent to the printer. That's it: your book has finally been printed.

A complimentary copy of your book

...is then sent through the postal system to you. We then proceed to the final stage of publishing your book. This involves updating all the publishing documents for your book and sending registration documents to the organisation which deals with new books and ISBN registration. A copy is also sent to the British Library as a legal requirement.

And that's it

...you are now a fully published author. You can expect to see your book available at online booksellers within 2 weeks of submission by ourselves. Copies are immediately available to purchase online at your web storefront by the author or friends and relations - we will provide you with full instructions on using your storefront website to make your own book orders, at cost price.
