"Today comes only once, and never returns.
We fancy that it will come again tomorrow, but tomorrow
Is another day which, in its turn, comes only once."
Schopenhauer

ISBN is short for International Standard Book Number
The ISBN is unique and identifies your book from all those millions of titles out there. Your book doesn't have to be given an ISBN but if you want booksellers to stock your book or book websites to sell it from their site or if you want a copy for your local library then it is essential that your book is assigned an ISBN.

Getting an ISBN for your book
If you do want an ISBN for your book there is a charge of £ 85.00. This charge not only covers the ISBN but also updating various book information repositories with the details of your book, including an image of the front cover of the book. This means that potential buyers can search for your book from anywhere in the world and be provided with the details. We also arrange to send a copy of your book to the main UK Copyright Library. Note that this charge applies to any type of book, it doesn't matter if it's a 500 page novel or a 70 page handbook, the same charge applies.

Updating your book with an ISBN.
If you do decide to have an ISBN for your book we will make sure it is printed in the front part of the book and also on the back cover. Note that there will also be a barcoded (machine-readable) version of your ISBN on the back cover of your book.
