Without authors and creative writers there would be no publishing so writing your novel, memoirs, guide book, poetry book or manual is the vital first step. A word processor allows you to make an electronic copy of your book. If you need them, use a scanner to add photographs, drawings or other illustrations to the text. When you're ready, email your documents to Rossendale Books.

Rossendale Books receives your documents by email along with any instructions. Before the book is actually printed by your publisher there are other pieces of information which you will need to provide including a book title, a photograph of the author if required, a short 'blurb' to describe your book and a brief description of yourself to include on the cover of the book. We can help you with all these things.

Once we receive the book documents by email the design process can begin. This includes choosing a suitable page size for your book, giving some thought to the page layout so that it looks good to the eye, choosing left and right margins, spaces at the top and bottom of the page, page numbering and the use of a suitable typeface or font. A separate task involves designing your book cover - always in full colour.

When we're happy with your book design (the main text & the cover) it is sent to the printer. That's it: your book has finally been printed.

Your printed copy is then sent through the postal system to yourself, the author. Further copies, by arrangement, are sent in the postal system to yourself. An email is always sent to the various recipients of a book, whether the author or anyone else, informing them that books are on their way.
